100+ Years Caring for Our Community.
We have been dedicated to caring for older adults in our Jewish community and beyond for over a century.
Our mission began in 1910 when a small group of individuals identified the need to provide sufficient housing, food and holistic support to older members of the community. With this great need in mind, they acquired a brick rowhouse that had the potential to accommodate ten residents. The Hebrew Home for the Aged was officially established in 1916.
“Each of us should utilize whatever means and talents we possess and accept responsibility for making our community a better place in which succeeding generations—Christians, Jews, and Muslims, whites and non-whites—may live, work, and grow in conditions of justice and well-being.”
